21st Century Fox!
Yippie! My camera is here!!

Isn't it purdy? I am so excited. Now maybe my posts will have more pictures in them since I won't have to borrow my work camera to take any.
Now, a year ago I didn't even have a cell phone. Really. My parents had to force me to get one (after we ran out of gas at 1 am on our way to Portland for thanksgiving. It was like, 28 degrees and we were at least 15 miles to civilization either way. We eventually hitched a ride from a coke-d out dude to a gas station and a ride back from a man I am certain was a serial killer)
Now I have this:

Which makes me a fully realized 21st century woman dontcha think? My $20 purse is now worth around $800-$900. It used to just be worth whatever money I had in there (not much!).
In the past I've had a history of losing or getting my purse stolen. And my keys. Also my license. I have a hard time keeping track of things. So, this makes me slightly nervous. I mean just last thursday I left my house keys in the door all night long. The fact is: one day I will lose my purse and be out all of this money in gadgets.
But, what can I do. I am now plugged in to the future and there is no going back. Life without my palm or my iPod *gasp* is unthinkable. I've now entered the adult world where one must Be Careful, and Mindful of Our Belongings, and Keep Our Head Out of Our Ass.
Necessity is relative. How necessary would a palm pilot be, say, to a 19th century american homesteader? (I just got done netflixing Frontier House - I highly recommend it) It would be completely useless, what would you do? Schedule your chores? In some countries having a car is an absolute luxury, but for a lower class person in american suburbia its absolutely necessary just to have a job. (An example I heard on NPR last night). I'm not excusing my western extravagance. But to get along in todays world you gotta keep your shit together. And for an ADD scatterbrain like myself a Palm pilot is close to a necessity. And I'm sure I can find an excuse for the rest of the stuff if you give me a minute.
Anyway, off to taking loads of useless digital photos and slapping them on my blog. Stay tuned for images of: my cats, my garden, my knitting, my boyfriend, my bellydance costume, the cut on my foot from something sharp in the hot tub, AND MUCH MORE!!
